POLICE have arrested a man in the Shipley area following reports of a person allegedly acting aggressively towards members of the public.
A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Police said: "Officers who have been investigating reports of concern regarding a man who has been approaching members of the public in suspicious circumstances around Hirst Lane, Shipley, have identified a suspect who has now been arrested.
"He remains in custody at this time."
The arrest comes after local residents expressed their concerns about a male acting aggressively in the Hirst Wood near the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.
Police launched an investigation and increased patrols in the area.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Woodhead, of Bradford District Police, said earlier: “We are aware of reports of concern regarding a man who has been approaching members of the public in suspicious circumstances around Hirst Lane, Shipley, in recent days.
“Officers have been conducting active enquiries into the incidents in which a male was said to have been acting aggressively to passers-by.
“While no-one has been hurt, these incidents have understandably caused concern and distress - a full investigation is underway.
He also said patrols in the area were increased as a reassurance to local communities.
