POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two masked men entered a shop and threatened a storekeeper with bladed weapons.

Kirklees District CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about the armed robbery which took place at about 7.45am on Monday at the Watan store on Victoria Road, Huddersfield.

It occurred when two masked men entered the shop and threatened the storekeeper with bladed weapons.

The men took the store till with cash inside and fled.

They were described as wearing balaclavas and gloves.

Detective Inspector James Bellhouse of Kirklees CID, said: “We are investigating this offence which left the victim shocked, but unharmed, and would like to speak with anyone who has information.

“The robbery took place on a busy road at a time of day when people would have been going to work and it is possible these men would have been seen either outside the shop after the crime or entering it just prior to the robbery.
