FACE mask wearing anywhere will no longer be compulsory in England from tomorrow, according to changes in the Covid guidelines.

However, people are encouraged to continue wearing masks in crowded and indoor areas, such as on public transport; while face coverings may continue to be required in hospitals and other medical settings.

The Telegraph & Argus took to Facebook last week to ask readers: ‘Will you still wear a face mask in shops or on public transport when the rules change?’

The question received a mixed response from readers, as they were split on whether they will continue wearing face coverings or will decide to ditch them.

Thanks to everyone who took to the T&A Facebook page to offer their views and here is a selection of them:

Jane Cockitt posted: “If the shops are full, yes.”

Sara Bolton: “Yes. I’ve not had a cold in two years so Covid or not, the masks are helping in some ways!!”

Natalie Finnigan posted: “Nope. They don’t work, virus is too small and penetrates, and long term wearing can make you ill with bacterial infections, such as pneumonia.”
