A MAN has appeared in court after stealing another man's bank card and then using it to pay for cigarettes.

Desmond Harris, 60, of Boldshay Street, Bradford, has appeared in court on two charges.

In the first offence, he received a 12-month conditional discharge for theft - other theft by finding, for stealing a bank card, belonging to another man, at Jet Service Station, Barkerend Road, Bradford, on December 20, 2021.

In the second charge, fraud by false representation, Harris used the other man's bank card to buy cigarettes, also from Jet Service Station, Barkerend Road, Bradford, on December 20, 2021.

Harris, who pled guilty to both charges, was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £22 victim surcharge for the second offence.

He was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates' Court on January 17, 2022.
