SAVANNAH Brockhill is preparing an appeal against her conviction for murdering little Star Hobson, according to reports over the weekend.

Brockhill was unanimously convicted of Star's murder by a jury at Bradford Crown Court last month.

The court was told how 16-month-old Star died after Brockhill kicked or punched her in the stomach.

The fatal injuries were delivered with such force that the toddler suffered similar trauma to a car crash, according to a medical expert.

Star's mother, Frankie Smith, was cleared of murder, but found guilty of allowing the death of a child. She was sentenced to eight years.

Brockhill was sentenced to life.

But, according to The Daily Mail, Brockhill is preparing an appeal on the basis that she did not administer the fatal blow.

The newspaper claims to have spoken to Brockhill at Styal prison, in Cheshire, where she is serving her sentence, and said that the former boxer believes she has a strong case.

It says Brockhill is now working as a cleaner in the prison and describes her new surroundings as 'not inhumane'.

The T&A has been unable to confirm the claims.

Another national newspaper - The Daily Star - claimed Brockhill is 'revelling' in her status as a 'prison pin-up' and she has been receiving cards from well-wishers.
