A MAN has been given a suspended jail term for asking for money outside two Bradford district shops.
Thomas Richardson, 44, of Coronation Way, Keighley, was given a total 18-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, for two charges of breaching a criminal behaviour order.
In the first charge, Richardson was jailed for 18 weeks, suspended for 12 months for, without reasonable excuse, at Aldi Foodstore, Gresley Road, Keighley on September 4, 2021, he asked another person for money which he was prohibited from doing by a criminal behaviour order made in 2021 for five years. He was also ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.
In the second charge, Richardson was jailed for 18 weeks, suspended for 12 months concurrently for, without reasonable excuse, at Iceland in Keighley on September 5, 2021, he asked another person for money which he was prohibited from doing by a criminal behaviour order made in 2021 for five years.
He has a lengthy record of failing to comply with court orders and must comply with a rehabilitation activity requirement within the supervision period of 12 months.
Richardson pleaded guilty to both charges when he appeared at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
