SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...because their cooker was not working and a shop would not help them.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.
And this one was no exception.

The team said: "Don't call the police to say that your cooker is not working and Curry's won't help you #not999."
Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them.
Other examples included a call from someone asking if their bank was open and a dispute over paying a window cleaner.
