POLICE have confirmed the identity of a man who died in a road traffic collision on the M62 on Monday. 

James Nicholson, who was 34, died when his white Fiat Ducato van was in collision with a blue and white HGV, close to Junction 29 at Lofthouse.

Paying tribute to James this week, his family said that he was a "loving dad to three beautiful children, a much-loved son, partner, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to so many".

They added that he was a "hard-working young man who was taken far too soon".

The family also thanked the public for their flowers and kind messages.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team are continuing to investigate the cause of the incident, and are asking for witnesses or those with dash cam footage to make contact with them on 101, quoting log 1347 10 January 2022.
