A BRADFORD driver has been fined more than £400 for speeding over 50mph in Wales.
Daniel Clarke, 31, of Hendford Drive in Barkerend, was found guilty of exceeding the speed limit at Newport Magistrates' Court on Monday (January 10).
The 31-year-old was driving a white Suzuki Swift Hatchback on Tregwilym Road Flyover, near Newport in South Wales, at 66mph last year.
This was on June 20.
The road has a speed limit of 50mph, due to a local traffic order made by Newport City Council, between Morrisons Roundabout and Pye Corner Roundabout.
Clarke did not attend the hearing, but was proved guilty via the single justice procedure.
He was ordered pay £574 in total by the court.
This includes a £440 fine, a £44 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £90.
The balance must be paid by February 7.
Clarke was also hit with four points on his driving licence.
