A VAN driver who was caught on his phone did not know his licence was revoked for too many points.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Steerside Enforcement Team - the force's dedicated initiative for dealing with anti-social and dangerous driving - were in the Shipley area yesterday.
They spotted a man driving a white van while using his mobile phone.
Police stopped the van and conducted several checks.
It turned out his driving licence was previously revoked, due to "totting up points", unbeknownst to him apparently.
The driver also had no insurance.
He was reported for no licence, no insurance and using his mobile while driving.
Police seized the van.
A full statement from the Steerside Enforcement Team said: "Vehicle stopped due to driver on his phone.
"Unbeknownst to him his licence was previously revoked due to totting up points.
"Driver reported for no licence, no insurance, and using his mobile whilst driving. Vehicle seized."
