SIR - It is becoming a regularity when I go for a bus that it doesn't turn up, no doubt because it has been cancelled. It is annoying, especially in bad weather when you're having to wait longer.
We are told that cancellations happen because there is a shortage of drivers. An unfortunate knock-on of the pandemic.
Why don't the bus operator, First in this case, try and solve the problem. The solution to upsetting passengers further, I believe, is to change the timetable. Make a weekday service the same as a Saturday. There are usually less buses running, therefore, less drivers required.
They do it at Christmas etc. Less chance of buses being cancelled.
At least we would know there will be, almost certainly, a bus arriving. This could be in place until the situation improved.
