Kirklees College has once again launched its baking competition.

Budding chefs from all Kirklees schools are invited to take part in the Young Chef of the Year competition.

Kirklees College can help provide guidance and encouragement towards a cooking career, for any aspiring chef.

The Young Chef of the Year competition I split into two events; one for year sevens and eights and a separate competition for years nine, 10 and, 11

The competition is open to students in years 9, 10, and 11 and an online competition for students in years seven and eight.
Year seven and eight students should create a restaurant-style plated dessert and email pictures of the recipe, the student making the dish, the student with the dish, and the students’ final dish 

Year nine, 10, and 11 students will have two hours to create and serve four portions of a restaurant-style plated dessert and sweet sauce. Up to 16 students will be selected to compete.

The heats will take place on May 4, 2022, with the final taking place on  June,15 2022. For more information, view the competition guidelines.

The closing date for applications and entries for both competitions is Friday March 18, 2022, at 12pm.
