A WYKE man has been jailed for assault causing actual bodily harm and driving off without paying for petrol.
Benjamin Gallon, 35, of Shirley Manor Gardens, was jailed for a total of 16 weeks for three offences.
He was re-sentenced for an original offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on March 24, 2020. He was committed to prison for 14 weeks for this charge because it was so serious as deliberate and persistent non-compliance with community penalty imposed as a direct alternative to custody. the offences were aggravated as they were committed while subject of a community order.
Gallon was also jailed for two weeks, consecutive to the other charge, for making off without payment, to avoid payment of £30 worth of petrol, at Moto Service Station, junction 47, Penllergaer, Swansea, on March 9, 2021. He was also ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge and £30 compensation for this charge after being found guilty at a summary trial held on October 21, 2021.
He was also committed to prison for two weeks, to run concurrently, for possession of a class C controlled drug, a quantity of valium, on March 9, 2021.
Gallon was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates' Court on January 5, 2022.
