POLICE are appealing for witnesses after the driver of a van died after crashing into a wall last night.
Officers were called by ambulance staff to Storthes Hall Lane in Kirkburton, in rural Kirklees, at 7.57pm on Wednesday.
A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van had crashed into a wall in the road, and the driver - who was the only person in the vehicle - was pronounced dead at the scene.
The van suffered slight damage from hitting the wall.t
Police enquiries are ongoing into the collision and officers are urging anyone who witnesses the movements of the van in the minutes prior to the collision, or who may have dashcam footage that could assist, to get in touch.
