POLICE are appealing for information after a pedestrian died on the M1 motorway last night after colliding with several vehicles.
Witnesses are being sought following the incident which occurred at around 8.45pm yesterday [Friday, December 17].
Police were called to the southbound carriageway of the M1 between Junction 38 and 39, near Woolley Edge services, following reports of a body in the road.
A male pedestrian suffered fatal injuries after colliding with several vehicles.
The road was closed and emergency services called to the scene, where it was confirmed the man had died.
It is not thought to be suspicious, and the road was reopened at 3.45am.
Anyone with any information relating to the incident of who may have dashcam footage of the incident or circumstances leading up to it, or who may have seen the man prior to the collision, possibly on Bramley Lane, is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 1834 of December 17.
