A HAWORTH bar has submitted a retrospective planning application that would allow it to keep an outbuilding erected in its beer garden without permission.
Bradford Council began enforcement action against the Treehouse Bar and Restaurant on Oak Street in August, claiming a number of works carried out at the venue, including the timber outbuilding, went against the approved plans for the site.
The owners, RFR Holdings, were urged to demolish or re-model the outbuilding so it met the approved plans, but now a planning application to retain the structure has been submitted.
The venue is in the Haworth Conservation Area - meaning any new buildings or alterations of existing buildings are put through extra scrutiny.

As well as the application for the outbuilding the company has submitted another two retrospective applications - one to retain an air conditioning unit and another to keep advertising signage that was put up without permission.
The outbuilding application says: "The timber outbuilding is located in an inconspicuous position adjoining an existing outbuilding on a neighbouring site in order to minimise it’s impact on the setting of the Conservation Area.
"It will introduce a new feature to the site, however this is simple in it’s form and detailing and constructed using restrained, natural materials."
A decision on the application is expected in February.
