The weekend is here again and many of us are searching for the best places to grab a meal in Bradford.

Mumtaz Restaurant

Location: 386-400 Great Horton Road, Bradford, BD7 3HS

As the winner of a Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Award in 2021, people have lots of good things to say about Mumtaz Restaurant. 

The restaurant is found on Great Horton Road, where the original Mumtaz shop was founded in 1979.

Expect Kashmiri dishes and delights like masala fish, mango lassi and Samosa Chaat.

One reviewer said: "We visited on a busy Saturday evening and the food and service was perfect.

"My daughter and wife said the butter chicken was the best she has ever had. We also asked for cheese naan as both my kids love them but despite these not being on the menu the manager went out of his way to get the chef to make us some, they [were] so good we got another.

"The mix grill was cooked perfectly, chicken pakora and keema Paratha was excellent, Proper keema in the Paratha. The tandoori roti [were] soft and massive and the chicken main dish was so fresh and tasty I wanted more but was too full. We are already planning the next visit."

The International

Tripadvisor rating: 4.5/5

Location: 40-42 Morley Street, Bradford, BD7 1BA

Ranking second on the Tripadvisor list is The International - a well known restaurant that has served generations of Bradford families. 

Customers can taste flavours and spices of Pakistan as they tuck into fish Nambali, chicken Nawabi Khana, Aloo Palak Karahi and more.

One reviewer told Tripadvisor: "Last time I visited the International curry house in Bradford, BandAid were asking 'Do they know it's Christmas' and Frankie was telling us to 'Relax'! So here we are again, 37 years later and whilst Frankie are long gone, the International is still at the top of its game."

He added: "Food was excellent Bradford curry / Asian fusion with beautifully light, freshly prepared naan breads. Fast friendly service. Bring your own alcohol if you need it. Full quality meal with pickle tray for four adults less than £90."

MyLahore Flagship

Tripadvisor rating: 4.5/5

Location: 52 Great Horton Road, Bradford, BD7 1AL

The MyLahore Flagship comes in third place on the Tripadvisor list.

Describing its food offering as a "British Asian Kitchen", you can find anyhing from samosas and shepherd’s pie to karahis or cornflake tarts.

One happy customer from Halifax said: "We, my granddaughter and her friend both 17 and me 71, were looking for somewhere to eat before our visit to The Alhambra Theatre in Bradford.

"We were hoping to go to Legends but it was being refurbished and we were a little lost as to where to go. A young man was passing and he recommended MyLahore and am I glad he did.

"We were greeted by a friendly server and shown to our table. We got the menu immediately and ordered drinks. The menu was very diverse, British and Pakistani food, but with lots to choose from. We had a few questions regarding the menu that were answered fully by our friendly informative server. The food was excellent, we can recommend the Garlic bread and Garlic naan.

"The price was another surprise, really reasonable and affordable for everyone. The restaurant and take-away were busy the whole time we were there but nothing was too much trouble for the servers. Our only disappointment was that we didn't have room for a dessert, but maybe next time."

Bhajis n Beer

Location: Retail Park 70A 72A New Line New Line, Greengates, BD10 9AP

With almost 250 'excellent' reviews, many say this Indian restaurant in Greengates serves up "consistently delicious" platefuls "packed full of flavours".

It is another winner of Tripadvisor's Travellers Choice title for 2021.

One Leeds resident said: "We had popadoms and pickle tray, which included some beautiful accomplishments that I have neve experienced before. Mixed starter of 3 different kebabs followed by 2 fabulous chicken dishes (Butter chicken & Chicken Achar) All washed down with a pint of Cobra! Knockout! We will definitely be going here again."

eastZeast - Bradford

Almost 350 people had 'excellent' reviews for eastZeast on Leeds Road - home to Indian flavours.

Perfect for any dinner parties with a mix of dietary needs, the menu has vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.

One reviewer told Tripadvisor: "EastzEast in Bradford is the best in my opinion, just had an awesome family meal there.

"The food was just like home cooked, even my elderly mum liked it, everyone enjoyed the evening, a big Thankyou to Masood,Sami and the whole team at eastzeast."
