A BRADFORD TV has blasted the government after about an alleged rule-breaking lockdown Christmas party in No 10 last year.

Leaked footage showed Prime Minister Boris Johnson's aides joking about a festive gathering.

Questions have been asked about an alleged party at Downing Street last year on December 18.

Dr Amir says he remembers the time of the alleged Christmas party vividly and recalls going to nursing homes treating Covid patients and breaking news of deaths to their families.

He added there is an ongoing mental health fall-out from the pandemic for people.

Speaking on today's ITV Lorraine programme, Dr Amir said: "If the government are going to put in further rules, who is going to take them seriously now?

"The rulers have to follow the rules themselves.

"It's pretty damning that the party probably did take place.

"What's really frustrating is that senior politicians, including Boris Johnson, have repeatedly gone on TV saying rules have not been broken.

"It's really tough to watch for someone who was working on the frontline, but tougher for someone who lost a loved one during that time.

"Thankfully we have news now that the Met Police are investigating these possible rule breaking.

"Hopefully we will get to the bottom of this soon."
