A BRADFORD firm is celebrating after being crowned a regional winner at the 2021 Great British Entrepreneur awards.

Shed manufacturer, Power Sheds, picked up the Scale-Up Entrepreneur prize after having seen an increase in revenue of 227 per cent over the last 12 months.

The firm, based at the Euroway Industrial Estate, has also increased its workforce by 143 per cent in order to meet demand.

Jack Sutcliffe and Simon Hobson set up Power Sheds in February 2019, and the business has already surpassed their initial three-year plan and moved to a new 44,000 square foot manufacturing facility in order to keep up with orders.

Co-founder, Mr Sutcliffe, said of the award win: "The last two years have been an exhilarating journey for Power Sheds and one that we’ve enjoyed immensely. From growing our workforce by 143% in 2021, to smashing our three-year plan in just six months of trading, we’re really proud to have flourished as a business in difficult times.

"The Great British Entrepreneur Awards brings together some of the best businesses and leaders in the country, so we’re absolutely thrilled to have brought home this award. We can’t wait to push on and continue to thrive as a UK-based business in 2022.”

The Great British Entrepreneur Awards have been running since 2012 and aim to acknowledge and champion the hard work and inspiring stories of entrepreneurs and businesses around the United Kingdom.

This year’s awards were the first in-person event since the pandemic began and presented an opportunity to recognise those businesses who had flourished during the pandemic, with 1,200 people in attendance at Grosvenor House in London.

This award follows a number of other wins for Power Sheds, who were named one of the Sunday Times Top 3 Start-Ups to Watch Out For.

The shed manufacturer has also been named winner of the eBay for Business Awards for Innovation 2020 and Best New Business at the Lloyds National Business Awards 2020, amongst other accolades.

Power Sheds was launched with the aim of becoming the online benchmark for quality and durability by offering a product with unparalleled simplicity from a brand that could be trusted.

The company has developed modular and adaptable sheds, which arrive in panels and customers can choose to put the doors and windows on any side as they assemble it at home.

As well as garden sheds, the firm also produces potting sheds, garden security sheds, bike sheds and and summerhouses too.
