WORK to remove potentially dangerous cladding on two city centre apartment buildings has finally been completed.

Following the Grenfell Fire disaster concerns were raised nationally about cladding made from Aluminium Composite Materials, similar to that found in the London tower, on residential buildings.

Two Bradford buildings were found to have such cladding - Landmark House on Bridge Street and Appleton Point on Hamm Strasse.

In January 2019 a notice was served to the owners of Landmark House, calling for the cladding to be removed and replaced.

A prohibition notice was issued to the owners of Appleton Point in February 2019, which led to the building being evacuated. It has not been occupied since.

Work still underway to remove Grenfell-style cladding on two Bradford buildings

Work to remove and re-clad both buildings has since taken place.

Members of Bradford Council's Regeneration and Environment Scrutiny Committee were given an update on the issue of high rise cladding at a meeting last month.

A report to members said the owners of both buildings were granted Government funding to carry out the work, which carried a "significant cost."

A Council spokesman said the cladding work had now been completed on both buildings, and the work had been certified by Building Control.
