A YOUNG man has been seriously injured after a four-vehicle crash on a busy bypass.

Emergency services were called to Stanningley Bypass, near Pudsey, at 9.58pm last night.

Four vehicles had collided on the busy dual carriageway.

The passenger in one car, a 21-year-old man, was rushed to hospital.

He had multiple serious injuries and still remains there now.

Police arrested two men, aged 19 and 21, and they were later released under investigation.

West Yorkshire Police has launched an appeal for information, in relation to the crash.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the manner of driving prior to the collision, or anyone with dashcam footage.

A full statement released this afternoon by the force said: "Officers in Leeds are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured following a four-vehicle road traffic collision.

"Emergency services were called to the Stanningley Bypass, Pudsey, to reports that four vehicles had collided at around 9.58pm yesterday (2 December 2021).

"The passenger in one car, a 21-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious multiple injuries, and remains in hospital. 

"Two men, aged 19 and 21, were arrested and later released under investigation. 

"Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the manner of driving prior to the incident, or anyone with dashcam footage to contact 101, quoting reference 13210623562.
