A MAJOR road resurfacing programme has been completed two weeks ahead of schedule.
The works on the A62 Leeds Road had caused delays for traffic travelling between Mirfield, Brighouse and Huddersfield.
The resurfacing work between Bradley Road traffic lights and Stocks Bank Road was completed on Friday, November 19.
This was a Department for Transport Challenge funded scheme in collaboration with Calderdale Council.
Several factors influenced the early completion including favourable weather conditions, detailed planning by the Council working with the contractor, a full road closure during the hours of work, coupled with the hard work of the team enabled the contractor to maximise output.
As a part of the works the team also repaired the drainage system along this stretch of road to help prevent future flooding.
