THE children at a Bradford primary school enjoyed growing a huge variety of vegetables in their allotment at Allerton.
Pupils at St Matthew's Catholic Primary School, on Saffron Drive, were able to go outdoors and work with nature in a beautiful environment which enhanced both their learning and wellbeing.
Children in year 5 made two types of soup from vegetables they had helped to grow in the school allotment.
The children and families of Year 5 were invited to join in sampling the leek and potato soup and the mixed winter vegetable soup.
The children also helped to make a firm favourite of garlic pizza from their own allotment grown garlic to accompany the soup.
Overall, everyone said the event was a huge success.
