A RISE in the number of robberies of delivery drivers are among the concerning trends that will be discussed by police at a meeting this week.

The Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team will give an annual update to members of Bradford Council's Bradford South Area Committee at a meeting on Thursday, when they will update members on the issues they have experienced in the past year.

Members will hear that there have been a number of "key issues" in the area in that time, including "spike in robbery offences against delivery drivers" in the Tong ward.

Other issues in the ward include anti social behaviour on Broadstone Way.

A report to the committee says there has also been problems involving anti social quad bike riding across the whole constituency and a "sharp increase" in thefts from cars in the Wibsey/Royds Wyke wards.

These thefts have led to six "significant" arrests and a number of stop/searches by police. The report adds: "This has led to a 60 per cent reduction in recorded crime in the four-week period since this operation."

In the past year there have been 24 drug warrants in the constituency, leading to 19 arrests and "identifying 17 locations where substantial amounts of drugs were located."
