A COMMEMORATIVE service to honour the innocent victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine will be held in Bradford.

Every year, the Bradford Ukrainian community gathers to remember the millions who were innocent victims of Stalin’s genocide against the Ukrainian nation in 1932-33.

At 10am on Saturday, there will be a short commemorative service honouring the memory of the victims of the enforced famine-genocide, known as the Holodomor.

The service will be held by the Holodomor plaque in the Memorial Gardens, adjacent to City Hall, Bradford, which was unveiled in 2013 when Bradford Council officially acknowledged the Holodomor to be an act of genocide.

Everyone is welcome to attend the service.

In addition, Project HOPE (Help Other People Eat) has been set up in memory of the Holodomor victims.
