HOT on the heels of COP26 comes Black Friday, with people across the planet clamouring to get their hands on the best cut price deals.
It’s been called a ‘pandemic-fuelled orgy of online purchasing’ and has resulted in a logjam of container ships in many ports around the USA, due to a shortage of trucks to transport the goods across the country.
Here, it will be all systems go as vans and lorries criss-cross Britain fulfilling people’s orders for cut-price TVs, electronic gadgets, furniture, you name it, we want it, especially if there’s a few quid off.
Never mind the usual spike in air pollution that results from all this madness. Who cares? Not many of us it would seem.
Those climate change talks are already a distant memory…
