SIR - Winston Churchill's name has been removed from a street name and replaced by someone more up to date and less racist, like Marcus Rashford. I understand JK Rowling has suffered a similar fate for saying women have physical differences to men.
Even five years ago all this would have been unthinkable.
Winston Churchill not only helped save the world from an evil fascist dictator but he was born in 1874. He's unlikely to have had 21st century attitudes towards diversity.
In the Bengal famine crisis of 1943, he is now accused of racism because he said "They breed like rabbits over there". Racist? Not only was Churchill engaged in the height of WW2, but his point was that if people are starving, why are they having lots of children? A good point.
I feel alienated by all this.
