YOUNG bakers got a treat when Great British Bake Off star Sandy Docherty helped to judge their competition.
It was held at A2Z Learning Centre, an after school club on Legrams Lane which provides childcare and tuition services.
Amjad Khan, from the centre, said: “One of our workers loves watching The Great British Bake Off and came up with the idea to have our own Bradford Bake Off for the children of Bradford.
"We loved this idea as we felt it was ideal to bring some fun and joy back in to the community, and we are always wanting to help support our workers in developing their skills.”
They enlisted the help of Key Events hall, in the same building as A2Z and welcomed other expert judges: Cakes by Bano; Cakestoplease and Cupcakesbytanny.
Final judging will take place on November 27. There’s a chance to win £500 for the child’s school; £250 for home schoolers and £250 to a charity of their choice.
