POLICE seized an uninsured driver’s car after they claimed they had just bought the car and were driving it home.
Officers from Operation Steerside seized the silver car in Shipley yesterday.
The driver, who was reported, was handed six licence points and can expect to be handed a fine.
The driver and their passenger also had a four-mile walk home after the vehicle was seized.
Steerside officers tweeted about the incident:
Vehicle stopped in @WYP_Shipley area. “I JUST bought the car and was driving it home” is not an excuse for not having insurance. Vehicle also shown as SORN. Driver reported & vehicle seized. 6 points & a nice fine incoming. 4 mile walk home for driver/passenger. #OpSteerside pic.twitter.com/0KBcatfEFa
