A CITY street is set to be one-way for traffic for almost a month due to roadworks.

Details of the proposed change have been announced by Bradford Council.

Gas works on or near Newall Street and Hutson Street, Little Horton, will necessitate a one-way traffic flow on Newall Street from its junction with Manchester Road to its junction with Park Lane.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the order will be available via Manchester Road, Park Road, Little Horton Lane and Park Lane.

The works will also mean a temporary road closure on Hutson Street from its junction with Newall Street to its junction with Woodcross Court.

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the proposed order will be available via Hutson Street (the unaffected section) Roundhill Street, Park Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times while the work is being carried out.

The traffic order will come into effect at 8am today and remain in force until 6pm on Friday December 10.

Applications to sell alcohol at premises in Bradford are published by Bradford Council. These include an application by Patrick Dooling for a licence to use the premises at Northern Kitchen, 1 Merrydale Road, Bradford, BD4 6SD, for the sale of alcohol from Monday to Saturday 12noon to 11pm and on Sunday from 10am to 11pm, as well as the provision of regulated entertainment between 8am and 11pm.

Representations on the proposals should be made in writing to the Licensing Team, Argus Chambers, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1HX by this Friday, November 19.

Anyone wishing to inspect the licensing register may do so at the above address between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and between 9am and 4.30pm on Friday. The notice identification number is BRA2249384.

It is an offence to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement in connection with an application. To do so can carry a maximum fine of £5000.

Bradford Council has also published an application for a goods vehicle operator’s licence. at a site in Bradford

Khyber Upholstery, of 27 Roydscliffe Road, Bradford BP9 5PT, is applying for a licence to use 86 Preston Street, Bradford, BD7 1JP as an operating centre for one goods vehicle and no trailers.

Owners or occupiers of land, including buildings close to the operating centre, who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected, should make written representations to the Traffic Commissioner at Hillcrest House, 386 Harehills Lane, Leeds, LS9 6NF, stating their reasons, by Saturday December 4.

Those making comments must at the same time send a copy of their representations to the applicant at the address given previously. A Guide to Making Representations is available from the Traffic Commissioner’s office.
