Community group Bradford 4 Better are relaunching their community patrol of the Bradford Moor region after seeing success over the last two years.

The group is looking for volunteers to help patrol the area around Bonfire night to ensure that people are having fun in a safe manner.

The bonfire period usually results in an increase of anti-social behaviour where the safety of families and individuals can be compromised.

Bradford 4 Better work closely with Bradford Council and have removed illegally dumped waste on streets and alleyways to prevent the number of potential hotspots for dangerous fires.

Volunteers patrol the streets on-foot and by car to reduce the number of anti-social incidents.

Bonfire night can lead to a great deal of mischief among young people and the community group have worked hard to educate people about firework safety.

Attacks on uniformed officers rise during this period, with a recent instance involving young people in the Keighley region, who threw fireworks at firefighters who had been called to tackle a blaze.

Bradford 4 Better are looking for more volunteers to help keep the streets safer and support the community.
