A MAN was found dead in an area of Bradford this morning.

At 6.26am, police were called by the ambulance service to reports of a concern for safety of a male on Avenel Road, Allerton.

The 48-year-old male was found deceased.

Following enquires at the scene, the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Due to prior police contact with the male in the days leading up to his death, a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

The coroners have been informed.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "At 6.26am today, police were called by the ambulance service to reports of a concern for safety of a male on Avenel Road, Bradford.

"Officers attended and a 48-year-old male was found deceased.

"Enquiries were conducted at the scene and it is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances in the death. 

"A file has been passed to the coroner.

"Due to prior police contact with the male in the days leading up to his death, a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct."
