A BRADFORD firm has been handing out free essential food hampers to the elderly as a way of giving back to the local community.

Home-Care Perfection, a domiciliary care agency in Greengates, has recently given out 50 of the hampers, which include essentials such as tea, coffee, milk, pasta, soup, biscuits and cake.

Sohail Bhatti said that the elderly had been hit hard by the effect of the pandemic.

"Home-Care Perfection wanted to let these citizens know that there are still people out there that care and are willing to give without motive.

"We are also aware that the older generation are very strong willed and independent and find it very difficult to ask for help, so we as a company thought this would be a positive stepping stone to open the lines of communication."

The company is also gathering clothes to hand out to the homeless and plans to offer more hampers at Christmas.
