A BRADFORD resident celebrated her 100th birthday last week surrounded by  friends and family at her care home.

Joan Kinally, 100, was born in Bradford and lived down Otley road most of her life.

She attended St Marys school where she was part of the choir for many years but stopped working at an early age to care for her grandmother. Joan said that ‘the secret to a long life is a good sense of humour and positive outlook on life’. She added that was ‘never married.’

Susan Bower,  manager of Newline Care Home said: “We have been honoured to host the 100th birthday celebrations for Joan. It was a day of joy fun and laughter enjoyed by all those involved. Entertainment with a singer, a beautiful buffet and fabulous decorations were enjoyed by everyone.”
