A MAJOR Bradford road is closed this evening after a youngster was hit by a van.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the scene, on Wakefield Road, just before 7pm.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the extent of the boy's injuries are not known at this time, but he has been taken to hospital.
Police could not confirm his age, but it's believed he may be a teenager.
The northbound stretch of the road is expected to be closed for some time while investigation work gets underway.
Traffic alerts report this evening: "A650 Wakefield Road Northbound closed due to accident from New Hey Road to Bowling Back Lane. Traffic is coping well.
"The road has been closed since 19:00. Sensors show the southbound side has been re-opened. An air ambulance was at the scene."
