A REPORT that two men tried to "coax" a child into a van yesterday has been proved false, according to police.
The story first emerged when Clayton St. John Church of England (CE) Primary School, in Bradford Road, seemingly sent out an alert to parents and guardians of pupils at 3.25pm today.
The text message said: "We have received a report of two men in a blue van on Pasture Lane attempting to coax a child.
"Please be vigilant. CSJ."
Many people posted on Facebook to say they had received the same text message from the school.
West Yorkshire Police officers were called to a report of a concern for safety that was said to have happened at 3.23pm on Monday.
It was reported that a driver of a van looked to engage a boy in conversation and that the child felt uncomfortable and made his way home.
An urgent investigation was launched, due to the concerning nature of the allegations.
But police revealed today that their conclusion was, there was no evidence found to support the allegations.
A full statement released on Tuesday afternoon by West Yorkshire Police said: "Police investigating a report of concern for safety on Pasture Lane, Bradford have found that the incident didn’t happen.
