PLANS to turn a former industrial building on the canalside area of Silsden have been submitted to Bradford Council.
If approved a 453 square metre section of Canal Works, off Elliot Street, would be converted into a "multi functional gym."
Submitted by Ben Sowrey, the application says: "This will include sports facilities that will cater for local instructors and community based physical training (e.g. Schools and local clubs).
There will also be access to onsite physios and sports rehab specialists. The gym will also incorporate a stall to provide refreshments and supplements to members."
Camping to be allowed on Silsden site for 28 days a year
It says the work would create gym space, changing rooms, physio offices and a "matted area/room for mixed martial arts."
The application says the business would open from 6am to 9pm on Monday to Friday and 8am to noon on Saturday.
There would be 30 parking spaces and 10 cycle spaces on site.
A decision on the application is expected next month.
