AN amazing photographic exhibition has opened at a museum in Keighley.

At noon on Saturday, 'Among Our Mills and Hills' began at Cliffe Castle Museum, and will be on display until March 2022.

The exhibition comprises 63 photographs taken within the Bradford District by over 40 enthusiastic hobby photographers who are members of Bingley Camera Club.

They were challenged to capture photographs reflecting their impressions of the district.

Sponsored by the South Pennines Park, subjects include mills and hills, the district’s people, architecture and events.

The images capture a diverse range of subjects and styles. For some images the connection to the district will be obvious; others will get viewers wondering.

Liz Beckwith, President of Bingley Camera Club, said: “Our club members have really enjoyed getting out and about in and around the Bradford District to take photos for this exhibition.

"We are so pleased that Cliffe Castle has offered to host this exhibition for local people and visitors to see, and also vote for their favourite image.

"The club is very grateful for funding for the exhibition from the newly formed South Pennines Park, via the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage.”

Helen Noble, CEO of South Pennines Park, added: “The South Pennines Park is delighted to support Bingley Camera Club with their Mills and Hills exhibition.

"This exhibition gives a flavour of the diverse and unique heritage of the Park, along with our connection and relationship with this beautiful place.

"The packhorse trails of yesteryear and the image of people walking to the mills for work sits alongside today’s wonderful network of transport, Public Rights of Way and waterways to encourage people to get out there and enjoy everything Park has to offer.”
