A FIRE that has left a Bradford family without a home ripped through a three-floor terraced property, caving in its roof, on Sunday afternoon.

Four appliances from Fairweather Green, Bradford, Shipley, Bingley fire stations and one aerial ladder unit from Bradford were called at 12.21pm on Sunday to the scene of the house fire on Springs Meadow, Thornton, Bradford.

A spokesperson from the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said that six breathing apparatus, three hose reels and one large jet from the aerial appliance were used to put out the fire, which took over two hours to extinguish.

Chloe Barron, 20, said the fire left her mother, stepdad and three young children without a home.

The family escaped with the clothes on their back.

Miss Barron said: "My mum was putting my little brother to bed when the fire broke out.

"The roof caved in. There was a lot of water and burn damage."

Miss Barron, who lives nearby, has started up a GoFundMe appeal to raise money to help her family.
