AN OLD episode of The IT Crowd contains a storyline in which Jen, the head of IT, is led to believe that the internet is contained in a small black box. She panics after it gets broken in a scuffle.
Relying on humans to function, the internet could actually break - earlier this week certain applications fell foul of something. While the world went into meltdown over the lack of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, I hoped it was the beginning of the end and we could return to life without the world wide web. Sadly it was not to be.
