Love Island star Liberty Poole is the latest to join the 2022 line up of Dancing On Ice.

The 21-year old reality star shot to fame this summer as a contestant on ITV's hit show Love Island when she was coupled up Jake Cornish.

Poole joins the rugby player Ben Foden and Regan Gascoigne (the son of footballer Paul Gascoigne) as the next celebrities to join the series.

Following the announcement, the Islander said: “I grew up watching Dancing On Ice and my mum actually used to be a figure skater.

“I ice skate as a hobby sometimes so I can get around the rink but I can’t do any tricks, no pirouetting or anything, so I’m really looking forward to pushing myself and learning as much as I possibly can.

“Not just skating around the ice, but actually dancing on ice. Bring it on!”

Former England rugby star Foden, who was used to be married to singer Una Healy, said: “I used to skate a little when I was a kid.

“I’d go to ice discos when I was 15, 16 (years old) and you’d always see these kids that could do pirouettes that had a proper dancing background. I like the idea of learning a new sport and a new skill.

“I’m quite competitive as well so I like the challenge of competing against others doing something that I’m not necessarily good at!”

Singer and dancer Regan Gascoigne was also confirmed as a contestant today.

Gascoigne said: “Obviously I dance and love dancing, but it’s the skill of this… I’ve always wanted to do it. Always! Ever since I was a kid!”

Liberty, Ben and Ryan will be joining the two celebrity contestants that were announced yesterday - Coronation Street actress Sally Dyvenor and Happy Mondays star Bez - as well as Paralympian Stef Reid who was confirmed this morning.

The gossip off the ice has well and truly begun after John Barrowman was sacked as a judge on the popular series following sexual misconduct on set during the filming of Doctor Who and Torchwood.

It is unclear who will replace Barrowman on the judging panel but former winner and Strictly pro James Jordan is the bookies favourite to take up the hot seat.
