A MAN was in court for a series of thefts - including a ladder, boxes of crisps and an iPhone - from a Bradford petrol station last week.

Andrew Nigel Penney, 33, of Bierley House Avenue, Bradford, committed two thefts and a burglary other than dwelling - theft at Esso Ring Road Service Station on Rooley Lane.

On July 29, 2020, he stole ladders and shelving to the value of £1,000.

On December 22, of last year, after entering as a trespasser in the station's storeroom, Penney stole two boxes of crisps of unknown value.

On the same day, he stole four bars of chocolate, a Monster Energy can, a pair of gloves and an iPhone 7, to the value of £169.58, belonging to the station.

Penney pleaded guilty to all three offences on April 28 of this year.

A community order was made against him, which says he must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

He must also pay £245 of compensation by October 4.

Penney appeared at Kirklees Magistrates Court on September 20, 2021.
