A HOME is being sought for a lifesize bronze statue of Keighley-born fundraising hero Captain Sir Tom Moore.

The piece – The Walk of Hope – is for sale at £30,000, with ten per cent of the proceeds going to The Veterans Charity.

Clark Sculptures hopes an individual or business may be interested in acquiring the work, commissioned by the company’s owner – Tony Clark – last year.

He said: “Captain Sir Tom gave so many people so much hope in a bad time and he definitely inspired me. Hopefully, what we have created captures that moment and the part of his life that gave everybody hope.” Overseas artisans took about three months to complete the statue, which weighs 175kg.

Captain Sir Tom captured the nation’s hearts when he walked laps of his garden and raised over £32m for NHS charities.
