PEOPLE were out in Bradford to raise awareness on how to pass horses and riders safely on the road.

Julie Evans and others - including Bradford Cycling Club and Steerside police - were supporting the Pass Wide and Slow nationwide campaign on Otley Road this past Sunday.

Two years ago, when the campaign started, Julie organised the ride from BD17, and had over 80 riders take part.

This year, because of roadworks, the walk had to be scaled down.

The organised rides are there to highlight the correct way to pass horses and riders on the road.

Motorists should slow down to at least 15mph, and pass as wide as is possible where it is safe to do so.

Two metres or more is the ideal passing distance.
