POLICE officers who investigated the crimes of a violent masked raider after he terrorised two couples in their own homes today welcomed his 14 year jail sentence.

West Yorkshire Police Detective Hannah Mansell was speaking out after Mark Hall was imprisoned at Bradford Crown Court for robbery and aggravated burglary committed in December, 2018.

Hall, 50, of Hydale Court, Low Moor, Bradford, was labelled a public danger by the judge, Recorder Kama Melly QC, who passed an extended sentence totalling 17 years. The custodial term was 14 years with an extended three-year licence period.

Hall and his accomplice assaulted two men in their own homes in the Low Moor area, demanding money, and leaving their wives terrified.

An elderly victim was punched to the floor and £60 rifled from his wallet in a robbery on December 6, 2018.

On December 30 that year, Hall and another man struck again, carrying out an aggra-vated burglary at a nearby property in which the householder was struck on the head with a baseball bat and a crowbar.

After today’s sentencing, Detective Mansell said: “Hall is a dangerous individual and this is a welcome sentence as it reflects the gravity of his offences.

“He entered people’s homes without permission and launched an unwarranted attack on them, leaving his victims injured, shaken and scared.

“I want to thank them for their co-operation throughout this investigation as it was a terrible ordeal, and I hope this sentence brings them the justice they deserve.”
