PERMISSION has been granted for refurbishment works to a listed city centre bank.
An application to enhance and improve the Grade II listed HSBC on Market Street was submitted to Bradford Council in the Summer.
Work would include changes to the layout of the banking hall, ,the replacement of “ageing” ATMs on the outside of the building and adding new spotlights that will light the building’s impressive architectural features.

The building dates back to around 1900, and is one of several grand banking halls in the centre of Bradford.
The application says the internal changes will “reflect the changing way banks are operating”
Approving the plan, officers said: “The proposal will not impact on the setting of the surrounding heritage assets or the host building."
