WE’VE had more than 100 nominations so far for the T&A’s cash giveaway.

There’s still time to put forward your favourite charity for a share of the £25,000 - see below for how to do it.

Here are some more of the charities our readers have been nominating:

* Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. Says Katrina Besley: “It’s a brilliant charity that is very close to my heart. It helped me during my five-month stay in Leeds with my little heart warrior, Kobi. I don’t know what I’d have done without them.”

Says Charlotte Taylor: “They provide for the hospital that saved my baby’s life at four-days-old and have continued to support us since. Without them she wouldn’t be here.”

Says Chelsea Holder: “They saved my daughter’s life three times and paid for my accommodation whilst my three-year-old was in hospital.”

* Dance United Yorkshire. Says Emma Haycox: “I go to Dance United women’s company, it’s so good for my mental health, it’s like my escape. If everyone with mental health problems had something like this the world would begin to look a better place for many that suffer on their own.”

Says Stephanie Donohoe: “They change the lives of the most disadvantaged people through the medium of dance. Incredible work where everyone is valued and supported to be the best they can be.”

Says Gemma Pearson: “This charity takes people who are non-dancers from disadvantaged backgrounds and those who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) and teaches them to dance and work towards performances. They also created a women’s company that I dance in, it gives people like myself struggling with mental health issues and low self esteem a safe space to explore movement and expression through dance. It has massively increased my confidence. My children have also been dancing with this charity for five years, giving them a vital outlet.”

Adds Helen Linsell: “DUY offers free contemporary dance projects to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and families in Bradford. Our projects have a positive and lasting impact.”

* Jacqui’s Million. Says Janie Myers: “Without Jacqui’s support and funding for cancer patients at Leeds Cancer Care Bexley Wing a lot of the equipment would not be so readily available to patients. She always strives to achieve her target to help others dealing with cancer.”

Sarah McWilliam says: “Jacqui is fundraising continually throughout her own cancer treatment, raising money for Leeds Cancer Centre. She is an inspiration, if this nomination helps towards her million pound target that would be wonderful.”
