THERE are just two weeks left to nominate your favourite charity for a slice of the T&A's £25,000 cash giveaway.

Lots of nominations have been coming in - here are some more of the ones we’ve had so far. See below for details of how to nominate.

* Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity. Says Noemie Benazet: “YBTC have been resilient in the face of growing challenges and need of support from patients. This donation would really help them continue to deliver what is needed in such uncertain times.”

Adds Marie Chester: “They are there for everyone affected by a brain tumour, including patients and families. I couldn’t have gone through this life-changing cancer without them. They have been there for me every step of the way and helped my young daughter enormously too. Their group wellbeing walks are enjoyable and helped me to meet others who really got me.”

* Candlelighters. Says Helen Rant: “Our lives have been turned upside down by our two-year-old daughter’s cancer diagnosis. Candlelighters have been there every step to support us. I can;t think of a more worthy charity helping families like us who are going through the unimaginable.”

Says Clare Boitelle: “If you were ever affected by children’s cancer, this is the charity that would be by your side from day one. We were affected in 2013 when our twin girls, Neve and Belle, were diagnosed with infant ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukaemia). The day after diagnosis, we were introduced to Candlelighters at Leeds General Infirmary. They have been an invaluable support and continue to be in our lives. We can never express how much they’ve saved us from the darkest of times. Supporting families across the region, this charity really ‘gets it’.”

Says Helena Fewkes: “This money would make a huge difference, for things such as family holidays, grants, equipment and fun play support for oncology wards, peer support groups, wellbeing sessions and talking therapy.”

* Bradford Disability Football Club. Says Tracy Cliffe: “This charity has worked hard through lockdown to help our members stay in contact. Our club is centred on fun, and through social events members also learn life skills. They have missed so much and suffered in the pandemic. We want to put a smile back on their faces. We have almost 100 members. With a donation, we could do so much; arrange a spectacular social event, new equipment, kit etc.”

* The Cellar Trust. Says Claire Grooby: “Mental health has been impacted by the pandemic. This charity delivers accessible support for people in Bradford.”

* Our parent company’s charitable arm, The Gannett Foundation, is giving £125,000 to charities nationwide and we have £25,000 for the Bradford district.
