BIG crowds have been enjoying the sunshine and events at this year's Saltaire Festival over the weekend.

A continental street market, in Exhibition Road, kicked off proceedings on Friday, with visitors converging on its stalls for food and drink items among others.

A fun fair, near the Shipley Glen Tramway, has also been running all weekend too.

Other events include a makers fair at Victoria Hall, picnic in the Park at Roberts Park and bandstand music at the same site.

The Telegraph & Argus' Mark Stanford and his friends paid a visit and thoroughly enjoyed their time.

He said: "It’s great to have the Saltaire Festival back in person after two years.

"It’s a stripped back version but it has still attracted plenty of people who are enjoying themselves in the warm weather. My friends and I are having a great time.

"There are plenty of food stalls and live music at the bandstand at Roberts Park.

"I'm really glad to have it back.”

The festival, back after a two-year absence due to the pandemic, started last weekend when a open house event was held at locations around the village.
