POLICE are appealing for information after a man went into a Bradford shop asking for a tin of Spam before grabbing a member of staff by her clothing and demanding cash from the till.

The attempted robbery happened at about 4:25pm on Wednesday at the Premier Buttershaw Convenience Store on Boltby Lane.

A man walked into the shop and asked for some Spam. He collected a tin, went to the counter before patting down his clothes and saying he needed to fetch some money. He then left before returning two minutes later.

Upon returning, the man went straight to the counter, grabbed a member of staff by her clothing and demanded cash from the till.

He then fled the scene empty-handed and ran off in the direction of Farfield Road.

The suspect was also seen walking into the store earlier in the day, at around 12 noon, when he walked around before leaving without selecting anything.

The man was described as wearing navy blue overalls with full length sleeves and legs, white footwear, white smooth plastic gloves and a white disposable face covering.

He was a white male, around 5ft 9ins tall and of slim build.
